Shared Interests & Values

Our relationship is based on a deep sense of respect and love for one another. Since we met seven years ago, we have always enjoyed each other’s company. We spend time every evening hearing about how each other’s day was. We both love to love to laugh and be silly, but can also have a lively discussion about current events and politics. We have many common interests as well, whether we are camping with friends, going to the movies on a date, gardening, shopping at the farmers’ markets, and tending to chores around the house. We also enjoy cookouts in the summer, dinner parties in the winter. We always seem to be hosting holiday dinners for our friends and family.

An important value that we share is the responsibility to be good citizens of our community and our world. We try to live with a level of environmental consciousness and commitment to social justice issues. We have taken part in several civil rights and peace marches over the years. As idealistic as it might sound, we believe that we need to actively participate in helping do our part to make the world a better place. Randall’s family attended church services every week, while Stuart’s family did not attend church on a regular basis. We have been able to find a common ground at our church, MCC San Francisco, a diverse spiritual community committed to direct social justice programs for those marginalized of our society. Our church embraces many different faith traditions and encourages us to find our own truths and beliefs.
